We believe that the Bible is the divine revelation of God to man. We believe that the Holy Spirit guided the human authors in choosing the very words they used in writing every portion of the original manuscripts so that the Bible is in all its parts both infallible as to truth and final as to authority. Therefore it is to be the only authoritative guide both in faith and practice (2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pet 1:20,21). We accept the King James Version as the only English authority.
We believe that the one true and living God is one in essence, possessing three eternal, personal distinctions which are revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, yet executing distinct but harmonious offices (Deut 6:4; 1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Pet 1:2).We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem men. We believe that. He lived a sinless life and accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a perfect substitutionary sacrifice. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Intercessor and Advocate (John 1:1,14; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Pet2:24; Eph 1:7; Heb7:25,10:12; 1 John 2:1).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God's purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness of the truth of the gospel in preaching and testimony; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling them and sealing them unto the day of redemption. We believe He guides into all truth, and that it is the privilege and duty of all saved to be filled with the Spirit (John 16:13, Eph 5:18).
We accept the Genesis account as being a historic record of creation and believe that the universe with all that is in it was created by God, not produced by the process of evolution.
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of Origin. (Gen 1-2; Ex 20:11; John 1:3; Col 1:16).
We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgressions fell from his sinless and happy state in consequence of which all of mankind are now sinners, by choice, being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God, positively inclined to evil; and therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse (Gen 3:1-6,24;Rom1:18,5:10-19).
We believe that salvation is all of grace through the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ who paid the full redemptive price, fully satisfied God's righteous demands by suffering the death penalty for man's guilt, and imputed to man His perfect righteousness reconciling him to God; that salvation is made effective to man only upon his exercise of personal faith in the crucified and risen Christ, which faith is not a meritorious work, but possible only by grace.
We believe that salvation includes justification, regeneration, adoption into the family of God, sanctification (positional, progressive, and final) and glorification; that one who is truly born again will, by the grace of God, be kept saved forever.
We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and that all-claims to the eradication of the old nature in this life are unscriptural (Eph 1:7,2:8,9; l Cor 15:1-4; 2 Cor 5:17; Acts 16:31; 1 Pet 1:5; Jn 10:28; Gal 5:16,17).
We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, self-governed, independent of any outside hierarchy of individuals or organizations, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its only scriptural officers are bishops or pastors and deacons, whose qualifications, claims, and duties are defined in Acts 6 and the epistles to Timothy and Titus.
We believe that biblical baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost to show forth as a solemn and beautiful emblem, our obedience to, identification with, and faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior. We believe it also is the symbol of our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. Baptism is a prerequisite to the privilege of church membership (Matt 28:19; Acts 8:36,37; Romans 6:4).
We believe that the Lord's Supper is the commemoration of Christ's death until He comes. We believe the use of bread and wine (grape juice) to be simply beautiful emblems of our Lord's broken body and shed blood. This service is a solemn occasion in which all born again believers are to participate together after careful self examination and correction of any area that would hinder communion with their Lord (1 Cor 11 :23-29).
We believe that the Scriptures do foretell certain future events among which are the following:
Rapture of the church- We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the atmosphere of this earth; that the dead in Christ will rise first, then believers who are still living will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord; that the Rapture is the next event on
the revealed calendar and that no prophecy need be fulfilled before it occurs (1 Cor 15:51- 54; 1 Thess 4:13-18; Titus 2:13).
Tribulation- We believe that the rapture of the church will be followed on earth by Israel's seventieth week; that, though there will be salvation, this will be a time of great judgments, the latter part being known as the Great Tribulation (Dan 9:26,27; Rev 7:4,9,14,13:6-17).
Second Coming- We believe that following the Tribulation, Christ will return to the earth with His glorified saints to establish the Millennial Kingdom; that during the 1000 years of peace and prosperity, Satan will be bound and Christ will reign with a rod of iron; that at the end of the Millennium Satan will be released for a short time, deceive many and lead them in final rebellion, but will be destroyed with his armies (Psalm 2; Isa 26:20; Dan 9:24, 12:1,2; Rev 20:6,7,15,21:22). Eternal State- We believe that the unsaved men of all ages will be resurrected and together with the evil angels will be finally judged and condemned to everlasting, conscious punishment in Hell. That all the saved of all ages in glorified bodies will enjoy everlasting blessing in the presence of God (l Cor 3:13-15; 2 Cor 5:10; Rev 20:6,7,15, 21:22).
